• 98 awards issued before patrols begin

Patrols might not start until next weekend but the Training and Assessment Portfolio has been hard at work!

The combined efforts of all the Training and Assessment Porfolios Trainers and Assessors has meant that a total of 98 new awards have been issued before the patrol season has even kicked off!

And there's still four bronze camps and a surf rescue certificate course to be run before the end of the year. Bronze camps are full, but positions are still available for the SRC course. Read on for a full rundown.

  • New surf rescue ATV and 4WD ready to go

A new All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and Callout 4WD have been delivered in preparation for the season and are on the beach, thanks to support for the 4WD from Wonthaggi Toyota. As these vehicles are vital and valuable tools for our surf rescue service the club ran a compulsory induction over requal weekend for all members who wish to use the new equipment. This will ensure the investment in our essential rescue equipment enjoys a long life at Woolamai Beach.

Contact your patrol captain for more details on induction.

  • Phillip Island jet ski rescue training update

Preparation for jet ski rescue training for the Phillip Island Marine Rescue Service is underway. Work in the classroom and on the water will go ahead as soon as possible with selected participants. Ask your patrol captain for more details on jet ski rescue training.
