Nippers Program 2017/18

The Nippers Committee has been busy over winter planning another great program and we are all looking forward to seeing many familiar faces as well as some new ones.

Our newsletter and website are the main way we communicate with our Nippers families.    Between now and summer you will receive several newsletters.  In case you are not receiving the newsletter please email to request to be put on the mailing list.

Please take the time to read the following information carefully as it outlines some changes to this season’s program and outlines how and when you can enrol.

This year enrolment will be a 3 step process

  1. Obtain or update your Working With Children Check & make sure it’s registered with Woolamai Beach SLSC and Life Saving Victoria

    (do it now)

  1. Enrol in Nippers via our website

(do it from 7pm Friday 13 October 2017)

  1. Create your family profile via the Life Saving Victoria website (do it by 3 November 2017)

We also need your help – we have some roles which must be filled before we can go ahead with this season’s program.

WWCC ID CardWorking with Children Check Information

The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a State Government initiative which was introduced several years ago. It is a current check and ongoing cross-checking of criminal records for sex, drug or violence offences, with notification to LSV. The following information is provided by Life Saving Victoria.

Keeping children safe is not just a moral obligation for Life Saving Victoria and its members, the “Working With Children Act 2005” (the Act) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) Policy (LSV-15-PP effective December 2013) requires all members 18 years and over to obtain a Working With Children Check to comply with the laws protecting children (U18) from physical and sexual harm. There are NO EXEMPTIONS under the LSV policy. This includes members whose professions require a police check for employment purposes, including teachers and police officers. Teachers and Police Officers are not exempt from a WWC Check when joining a life saving club.
